Rutgers Cancer Institute

The Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center at Rutgers Cancer Institute, designed by HOK, is New Jersey’s first and only freestanding cancer hospital. The brief called for balancing patient privacy with clinical visibility across infusion bays, exam rooms, and research labs, while bringing wayfinding and positive distraction to pediatric infusion and oncology spaces.

Skyline was able to provide 20,000 square feet of custom decorative glass and 10,000 square feet of Smart Glass, to help the center balance privacy, visibility, and cleanable digitally printed glass artwork throughout the facility.

Skyline Glass integrated SDX2 Smart Glass into patient observation windows and door systems. The glass switches from clear to opaque on demand, giving caregivers privacy without blinds or curtains and keeping the space easier to clean and maintain. Custom decorative glass throughout the lobby and treatment spaces adds visual interest and a calmer, more welcoming and memorable atmosphere.
