Rush University Medical Center

Designed by HDR Architecture, the Joan & Paul Rubschlager Building at Rush University Medical Center features over 6,000 square feet of custom glass across 472 panels. This high-tech outpatient facility incorporates a bespoke wayfinding system in glass on each floor, enhancing navigation while reinforcing the building’s distinct identity.

Each level showcases a unique color scheme, complemented by exclusive artwork from Bonnie Edelman, Suzanne Tick, and Michael Graves—seamlessly integrated into Skyline glass for durability and visual impact. The use of glass supports Rush’s design goals of innovation, clarity, and patient-centered care, ensuring both functional and aesthetic excellence in a dynamic healthcare environment.
