Quote Estimates

Quote total (and estimated deposit amounts, where applicable) are estimates only based on information available at the time of the quote, and do not include any applicable taxes. These values are subject to change based upon final order configuration. Where multiple options are presented, estimates are based on highest priced option only unless specified otherwise.

Order & Production Policies

All prices are USD. Orders must be picked up or released for shipment within 10 calendar days of completion by Skyline Design. Orders that exceed this 10 day timeframe will be subject to storage fees of $99.00 per day per crate/rack.

Skyline Design will not fabricate its patterns on customer’s glass that is deemed out of compliance due to damage, improper size, or any tolerance related issue.

Skyline Design will notify its customers as soon as glass is received and inspected in our facility. It will be the customer’s responsibility to choose whether the glass is to be used or replaced. If glass is to be returned to vendor, client is responsible for providing a Return Material Authorization form and non-conforming glass must be picked up within 7 business days of notification. Skyline Design will dispose of unused and unclaimed customer glass 10 business days after customer is notified.

Annealed glass will be handled by Skyline Design at the customer’s own risk. Replacement of annealed glass damaged during Skyline Design’s regular production procedures will be at the customer’s expense.

Cancellation & Refunds

Shipping charges are subject to change based on actual weight, services and rates at time order is placed.

Orders that are cancelled by the client, for any reason, are subject to charges for materials and/or labor incurred to the date of cancellation.

On replacement pieces or reorders, an exact color match to the original cannot be guaranteed due to inherent variations in production runs.

The Skyline Design Terms & Conditions Acknowledgement is hereby included in the general terms of this order.

2. Specifications & Technical Notes

Glass Dimensions & Limitations

The general maximum size limitation for pattern application is generally up to 60″ x 144″ or 72″ x 120″. Panels exceeding these dimensions will need to be split or reduced in size in order to apply Skyline Design decorative applications unless specified otherwise. Certain applications may not be available on all glass thicknesses and types, and certain finishes may not be available in all sizes. Manufacturing capabilities for tempered glassvary between manufacturers; additional size limitations for tempered glass may exist.

Weight restrictions and overweight surcharges may apply for individual panels exceeding 300 pounds, and oversized surcharges may apply to glass exceeding 120″.

Production dimensions are rounded to the nearest 1/16″. If there are discrepancies between our rounded dimensions and the requirements of your installation, please provide updated dimentions rounded to the nearest 1/16″ on your purchase order.

Material Specifications

a. Vitracolor

The prices quoted for standard and custom Vitracolor products are for opaque , non-metallic and non-pearlescent color selections only (unless specified otherwise). Additional charges for metallic and pearlescent colors may apply. There is a 5 square foot minimum charge per panel for all Vitracolor applications. Additional charges apply for horizontal surfaces (unless specified as such in the quote), please contact Skyline Design if a revision is required.

To ensure the most accurate color transmission through the glass for our Vitracolor application , all control samples and projects are manufactured using low iron Starphire glass unless specified otherwise by the architect. Please note it is Skyline’ s recommendation that all Vitracolor is to be fabricated with low iron Starphire glass. Skyline has found that there can be apparent visual inconsistencies that are beyond our control when

Vitracolor is applied to clear glass. Skyline Design cannot accept responsibility for any rejected glass due to these inconsistencies if Vitracolor is requested on glass other than low iron Starphire. Certain circumstances beyond Skyline Design’ s control can affect the color of the finished

Vitracolor product, such as glass thickness, final glass size, ambient lighting, different glass manufacturers than the one listed in the quote and different manufacturing lots. As is the case with all painted products, for replacement pieces or reorders an exact color match to the original project cannot be guaranteed due to the inherent variances in production runs.

b. Vitracolor Magnetic

Vitracolor Magnetic requires a specific type of magnet for optimal performance; please contact Skyline Design for more information.

Skyline Design recommends approximately 4 rare earth magnets per 16 square feet of Vitracolor Magnetic glass. Magnets are available in two options, with white or black cap. Please specify the number of magnets required and the cap color when you submit your purchase order.

The prices quoted for our Vitracolor Magnetic application do not include any of the hardware and /or framing required for installation (unless specified otherwise). Accessories (other than magnets or marker rails as specified on the quote) are not provided. Vitracolor Magnetic is not available on thicknesses greater than 1/4″.

For Vitracolor Magnetic installations requiring our formed backer and z -clip option, please note that the formed backer and z-clip are available at additional cost; this cost is not included in the prices quoted unless specified otherwise.

c. Glassboards

Glassboards are typically provided without a tempering logo.

Size tolerances for Skyline Design glassboards are +/- 1/8″.

d. Finished Edgework

Due to material handling requirements, all edges on 1/2″, 5/8″ and 3/4″ monolithic glass must be polished.

All edgework on an individual lite must be uniform (polish all edges or seam all edges).

Tolerances

Sizes (where applicable) are listed as width by height. Production dimensions will be rounded to the nearest 1/16″; standard ASTM tolerances will apply.

Below are glass tolerances for rectangular shapes of transparent, monolithic, flat glass.

  • 1/8″ = +/- 1/16″
  • 3/8″ = +/- 3/32″
  • 5/8” = +/- 5/32″
  • 1/4″ = +/- 1/16″
  • 1/2″ = +/- 1/8”
  • 3/4″ = +/- 3/16″

Glass tolerances for bow & warp per ASTM C1048. All glass fabrications must meet ASTM standards.

For glass tolerances on laminated glass panels, please call your Skyline Design representative.

Glass tolerances for length/width, squareness, thickness and quality per ASTM C1036

Glass tolerances for 1/4″ glassboards may vary; review product specifications and technical notes above.

3. Pricing & Lead Times

Price Calculations

Prices are based on information available at the time of the quote. Any change in glass or pattern specifications from those quoted may result in a change in price.

All pricing based on sizes rounded up to the next even inch with a 3 square foot minimum charge per panel unless listed otherwise. Vitracolor, AST and applications on laminated or insulated glass will be charged a 5 square foot minimum charge per panel unless listed otherwise. Sizes listed are typically block sizes; the client is to provide written confirmation of final quantities and sizes upon submitting a purchase order.

Square footage per panel is rounded to the nearest whole number.

Pricing is based on entire cut glass size. Please add an additional 4″ to each dimension in order to calculate the block size for pattern-cut panels.

Prices are based on glass arriving and shipping in (1) one release unless specified otherwise; if multiple production runs and/or releases are required, pricing is subject to change based on the square footage of each release.

Custom fabrications such as polished edgework, holes, notches et cetera are not included in the price unless specified otherwise.

Client to provide exact cut glass sizes and layout in writing.

Glass pricing does not include tax, delivery, hardware or installation unless otherwise noted.

Skyline Design’s standard warranty applies to all products quoted unless specified otherwise on this quote.
