The National Glass Association welcomes Vipul Bhagat, President & CEO of Skyline, to its Board of Directors. Bhagat will take office effective immediately, filling a fabricator seat on the board, and will serve through September 2026.
Bhagat adds valuable industry experience to the NGA Board. As he begins his term, he shares his thoughts on the association, his business, and his goals for his time on the board.
NGA: What do you value about the association; do you have any suggestions for improvement?
VB: In my tenure as President and CEO of Skyline glass, I have worked to open communications and break down boundaries between fellow glass fabricators and manufacturers. I believe we can join forces for tighter efficiency, better products, lower environmental impact, and higher profits.
I value NGA because it is a community made up of the most significant players in the glass industry, and there is great potential for all!
NGA: Describe your business.
VB: Headquartered in Chicago since 1983, Skyline has redefined the creative potential of architectural glass, offering everything from patterned, printed, textured, laminated and painted to dynamic, switchable, and acoustic glass solutions. We pride ourselves in problem solving and maintaining a high level of quality in all product categories.
Our headquarters contains both offices and factory, and has been based in Chicago, IL since 1983. We cater to the contract design industry, primary verticals are healthcare, corporate, government, transportation, education, and retail. Our customers are interior designers, architects, glaziers and general contractors.
NGA: What types of business or charitable organizations and events are you and/or your business involved in within your local community?
VB: Skyline donates to and works with local Chicago nonprofits to promote social equity, including RefugeeOne and Heartland Alliance, which provide job placement opportunities in our factory and office for refugees who have fled war, terror, and persecution; Association House Chicago, which offers part-time, flexible work options for individuals with developmental disabilities; and Teamwork Englewood, a re-entry program for formerly incarcerated individuals.
NGA: Why would you want to be a board member and what would you expect to accomplish in 3 years?
VB: After being at Skyline for 30+ years, I have a strong understanding of how to market and speak to the A&D community. I hope to support the NGA in connecting further with this market.
