Inside the Ethereal World of Anne Lindberg

Aug 16, 2024

Skyline recently had the privilege of visiting artist Anne Lindberg in her vibrant studio nestled in the picturesque Hudson Valley, NY.

Anne Lindberg is a multimedia artist renowned for her elegant process-driven work. She creates linear drawings on mat board using colored pencils and graphite (in a truly dizzying array of hardnesses, meticulously organized). While she draws inspiration from the landscape of the Hudson Valley, her compositions are nonobjective meditations on time and light. Her studio has been custom built to support these processes.

In addition to her wall-mounted panels, Lindberg’s site-specific installations embody her aesthetic philosophy. Using hundreds of strands of colored cotton string meticulously fastened in place, she crafts ethereal environments that shift with the light and the viewer’s perspective. The result is a body of work that is not only visually striking but also profoundly meditative.

We were honored to collaborate with Lindberg on her glass-clad installation at the Richard Bolling Federal Building in Kansas City, MO. This project showcases her innovative design sensibility and playful use of color. You can explore the project in detail here: Richard Bolling Federal Building Case Study.

Skyline is also pleased to feature two of Anne Lindberg’s designs in our permanent glass pattern collection. Discover these patterns here: Skyline Patterns

Anne Lindberg’s work is a reminder of the power in simplicity, precision, and clarity of concept. We look forward to seeing how her innovative approach continues to transform spaces around the world.
