Color + Water Debuts at NeoCon and Wins the HiP Award for Materials

Jun 10, 2026

NeoCon 2026 marked the public debut of Color + Water at Skyline’s Humboldt Park factory. That same evening, at Interior Design Magazine’s 13th annual HiP Awards ceremony at The Mart in Chicago, the collection won the HiP Award for Material, one of nearly 500 submissions considered.

Collection designer Kelly Harris Smith and Skyline Marketing + Communications Director Jessie Devereaux attended the ceremony and accepted the award.

The Evening

The launch took place in the Skyline glass studio where the collection was made, a 100,000 square foot facility in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. Color + Water translates Kelly Harris Smith’s watercolor studies into large-scale architectural glass, designed with health-centered environments in mind.

With over 60 attendees, the evening included a display of dozens of Kelly’s watercolor pieces, an immersive decorative glass exhibit, and tours of the Skyline facility.

“Working at architectural scale changes everything about how color and paint marks are perceived. What started as small watercolor studies became something I didn’t quite expect when I saw it installed for the first time.”
